What is a S200 booster and how does it work
Solid rocket boosters or SRBs are rocket motors which help the rocket to escape the lower atmosphere in an economical way.
S200 is the 4th largest solid rocket booster used by Indian Space Research Organisation. (ISRO) in its GSLV launch vehicles. The S200 was developed at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
Specifications of S200
The booster have a height of 25 metres.
They have a diameter of 3.2 metres
They use 205 tonnes of HTPB fuel
S200 booster can generate a thrust of about 500 tonnes
S200 can launch the whole rocket upto low earth orbit without the need of igniting the Vikas engine (core stage liquid engine).
